My classroom is a learning community where students are always working together in a variety of places. In our classroom we have tables and chairs. The students need to move around our classroom space to make learning their own. Having seating options in our classroom will increase in student engagement and provide students with more ownership over their learning. This especially important for students coming from diverse socioeconomic status. Many of these students need to move throughout classroom lessons and providing students with wobble chairs, stability balls, wobble cushions, etc will enhance their engagement and increase learning. The high stakes standardized tests that our students are required to take are stressful for students and this will be one way to help them do the best they can.
