I want to transform my classroom into a Google classroom, but I have to share a computer cart of only 25 computers (I have 28 students) with three other teachers. This makes it almost impossible to truly engage students in learning with technology. In order to truly have a Google Classroom you need to have technology easily accessible at all times. Although the number of computers on my wish list will not quite outfit my classroom, it will give me enough to do some cooperative learning with the use of technology in every subject every day.
The only place my students have access to technology is in the classroom. My students do not have computers, tablets or smart phones at home. That is why this project is so important. They are hard working students who are eager to learn. They need to be prepared for the future and the future for them without a doubt is filled with technology. As a teacher, I do not feel I am adequately preparing my students without embedding technology into my daily instruction.
This project would allow me to have students assess their own learning, monitor their progress and engage in higher order thinking skills with the use of technology in math, reading, science and social studies.
