I want my students to be life-long connoisseurs of music and be able to listen to, discuss, and share their musical preferences with generations to come.
In a rural mostly white school district, my students come from a wide range of socioeconomic and varying cultural backgrounds. Music can hold a very important key to students' academic success, and I work to help my students learn about a variety of cultures through a variety of mediums.
The looks on my students' faces, when all the things we've been practicing finally "click" into place for them while playing or performing, are why I teach.
