The wobble chairs, standing desk, and bouncy bands that I am requesting will specifically benefit the students in my classroom who have a hard time staying on task. These items will help this group of students by providing appropriate and non distracting ways to fidget. By having to redirect these students less often, all of my students benefit from the reduction in the loss of instructional time.
Studies show that by providing students with multiple opportunities to "wiggle while they work" all kids benefit during the learning process and are able to experience success!
My students need a standing desk, bouncy bands, and wobble chairs to help them wiggle while they learn. These wiggle tools are not disruptive to the learning environment and will help all of my students to be successful. The standing desk will be used in a rotation so that all my students will have the opportunity to stand and work. The kick bar attached to the standing desk gives an extra opportunity for the student to wiggle their foot while standing on the other foot. The bouncy bands will be attached to several student's desks so that they can bounce their feet away while not disturbing others. Lastly, the wobble chairs will allow students to sit at a chair that smoothly rocks back and forth and side to side to help get the wiggles out, all while being productive and happily learning.
All of the above wiggle tools gives students a physical movement opportunity without wasting time outside of the learning environment. Thank you for your help on funding my project for a great group of kids who just want to wiggle while they learn!
