Each year, a new, and diverse group of students enter my classroom in August. Their level of reading spans from Kindergarten to 4th grade. My job is to teach them to be good readers as well as develop a love of reading that will last them a life time. As a 2nd grade teacher, I have many 2nd-4th grade level books for my students to choose from, but I have very few Kindergarten and 1st grade level books. All of the children deserve a wide variety of books to choose from that fit their reading level. Reading "good fit" books is crucial to a child's progress and development into a successful reader!
