Utilizing a horseshoe table while conducting small reading groups will enhance my scholars level of engagement and focus. This year I will be working with scholars in kindergarten to 3rd grade. This table will allow me to see nine groups of four children. All of these children will benefit from this table. Providing an, "optimal" learning environment means meeting the needs of ALL scholars. This table's shape will allow me to reach all the students I work with in small group. The students will sit around me, and I can keep this very focused and engaged. Student's writing will also improve due to their proximity to me while using the table. I believe this table will help me meet their needs and help them become better readers!
