We need many different ways to get comfortable throughout the school day. Having choices about where students will be working during both small group and independent center time creates ownership of their learning. The requested carpet, bean bag chairs, and cushions will create a relaxed learning environment, which allows students to focus and remain on task.
When students are comfortable physically, they are able to do their best academically. I spend a lot of my personal money buying materials that support the curriculum, and wish I was able to do more to enhance the physical environment of my classroom. If this project is funded, learning will flourish.
