As mentioned before these students are growing up in a poverty-stricken neighborhood with limited resources. Regardless of economic disadvantages these students love school and reading. These texts will allow students to access the curriculum. Each day during reading, students will participate in a seminar. While reading, the students will be encouraged to analyze the text, take notes, and question classmates. At the end of the period, students will be given a text dependent response question to answer independently.
The highlighters will be used for annotation and note taking purposes.
Thank you in advance for your wonderful donations, the students will be very happy!
