Students will use these books to access curriculum that is aligned with the Common Core Standards. These books will help students in reaching their educational goals and to make reading fun and excited for students of different reading levels. The books will be used during read aloud time to discuss reading and language arts strategies, vocabulary, and comprehension skills. These books are used in Amy Lemon's classroom in a program called Rooted in Reading. She is a well know and successful teacher and blogger. These books will allow my students to enjoy hands-on crafts while teaching the standards they need to learn in 2nd grade. Each month is a new theme of author studies, holiday preparation, fiction, or non-fiction texts. I need help in purchasing the books that my students will need access to in order to be successful with the new program.
