Having access to iPads allows my students with learning disabilities to access grade level text and participate in text-based academic conversations. Student writing will be supported with text prediction software that can also be heard orally.
Equality is when everyone gets the same thing, equity is when everyone gets what they need.
My students deserve a classroom environment in which equity is at the heart. Students that struggle with reading and writing will be included and be a part of group discussions. Inclusive environments need to established by the teacher but technology can help provide access and differentiation for students.
