We have been chosen to use a new reading program called "Bookworms." We are very excited about this program, because all of the books seem to be books that would hold the students' interest. We have been begging for a reading curriculum for years now, and they finally chose one for us. We are so excited to see if this curriculum will increase the reading levels of our students.
We have ONE major problem. We can't afford to buy all of the sets of books for our students. Our administrators are buying the first round of books for us, but have encouraged us to find other ways to have the books donated to our school. We will use these books for years to come, and many students will benefit from these donations.
While I am only the Special Education teacher, I co-teach with other teachers in fourth grade. We serve 75 students!
