My students will create and program a weather station to collect local weather data throughout the semester. They will then use the data to graph changes and compare to historic weather data. This will give them a better understanding of climate and how changes in climate can effect an eco-system. Climate and weather are a very important topic right now and projects like this will give them the skills they need to be informed participants in the community. Donating to this project will help students for years to come. Not only will I be able to use this activity every semester impacting hundreds of students, but they will each be able to share what they have learned with their community.
