My struggling readers have been working hard to prepare for state standardized testing this year. As a reward, I would like to host a book tasting celebration!
Hosting a "Book Tasting" with various novels will entice students to actively participate in a fun and exciting setting with their peers. Students will engage in a sampling of books in a restaurant setting. Snacks, mood-lighting and music will accompany their reading throughout the tasting.
Students will be able to read, browse, discuss, and review new and upcoming YA novels. The students will experience books of different genres and writing styles throughout the tasting. Allowing students the opportunity to review novels of all genres and writing styles will increase the chance of creating life-long readers.
