S.T.E.A.M. is a curriculum based on the idea of educating students in five specific disciplines — science, technology, engineering, the arts and mathematics — in an interdisciplinary and applied approach.
Rather than teach the five disciplines as separate and discrete subjects, STEAM integrates them into a cohesive learning paradigm based on real-world applications.
Students have many varieties of learning styles. Some students prefer using manipulatives rather then one dimensionsal ways of learning. Providing my students, especially my special needs students, with a STEAM center encourages all my students to engage in the creative process in various ways. We are hopeful this initiative will be a success!
