Every year I usually am the one who buys and pays for all my students basic supplies, pens, pencils, notebooks, markers, scissors, and glue, etc. These materials will help to ensure my students success by making sure that they have everything they need to complete assignments since not all students are not always able to bring their own supplies. However due to financial personal hardships I am not going to be able to buy all these items for my class and I don't want my students to do without.
We are not at a Title I school and do not get extra funding. At our school, we have several district transfers. We have students coming from lower income areas who are not able to purchase the necessary items needed for school. I feel it is important to have the necessary supplies they need to be successful to no matter what their situation.
Every student should start off with a clean slate and ready to make the new year great! Fourth grade is a transitional grade and it is important that each student has what they need in order to set the tone for middle school and further grades ahead.
