Sitting all day is hard for adults, could you imagine being a kid in a classroom that sits for 8 hours a day?
I plan on giving my students the option in how they sit to learn everyday. Different seating options will allow my students to do what they think is best for them and their learning.
Giving kids the option to how they want to sit and learn has been proven to increase attention and production in the classroom.
One of the items I would love for my classroom is Gaiam Kids Balance Ball Chairs. It has been proven that kids can focus more while balancing on ball chairs. These chairs will also help the kids with their posture. Another item I would love to add to my classroom is Bouncy Bands for Chairs.
These bands will help the students move while they work and allow my fidgety students to move that is less distracting to themselves and students around them.
One of the other items that I would love to see in my classroom is Inflated Stability Wobble Cushions. These cushions help students who have a hard time sitting still by allowing them to balance themselves on the cushions. The cushions will also allow students to sit at tables lowered to the ground to sit and learn for the day.
I can't wait to give my students different alternatives to learning than sitting in metal chairs all day!
