Scholastic News is an additional nonfiction resource for my students to engage with that includes a magazine, online resources, videos, and activities that relate to our standards. I have used Scholastic News in the past. The students are engaged, focused, and excited to learn new things each week with a new Scholatic News every week. With access to online resources, my students can watch videos, read an online version that helps with vocabulary, and have access to back issues of Scholastic News. There are printable resources that include standard based activities for each issue. Using Scholastic News has increased reading comprehension among my former students as well as given them a love for nonfiction.
