Happy Coders Learn More will create an environment where failures are accepted and success is celebrated. The robots we are asking for (called Sphero, Dot, Dash, and Ollie) will make a difference by challenging the students to problem solve and think critically. Within this project, they will overcome challenges and will have the freedom and flexibility to persevere to explore different avenues for success. Working in peer groups my students will be able to command the robots to complete challenges. Dash, Dot, Ollie, and Sphero will let the kids work with coding languages, design programs, game design and robotics. This project will be driven by student interest and I as a teacher I would like to provide my students with this innovative learning opportunity.
"Coders can change the world. They build new amazing things faster than ever before. Anyone with an imagination can learn how to code." ~Jeff Wilke, Amazon.com
"As an animator, director, and fonder of a thriving computer animation studio I have seen how important it is for the labor force for people to be multi-disciplined. Teaching art and technology to this young generation will be instrumental in preparing them for all future careers ad for the US to have a thriving economy. The use of computer science, while also being able to communicate with visuals, is becoming even more significant in our rapidly changing digital world." ~Bryan Engram, Owner, CEO, and CCO of Brazen Animations in Dallas, TX.
"There are currently 525,293 open computing jobs nationwide.
Last year, only 42,969 computer science students graduated into the workforce."
My goal is for all students that I teach to be able to have resources for coding and be encouraged to try.
