In my classroom, I will use technology daily during our reading and math workshops. We will use websites designed for literacy and math, as well as research. This generation of students was born into an era of ubiquitous technology. My students do not have a lot of access to technology at home, and I will use technology daily in my classroom.
I want my students to be as comfortable as possible using technology. They will need an advantage when they get older, and it is vital that they begin using technology in elementary school. I use Google Classroom because I know students will need to be comfortable with it when they go to Middle School and High School. I would also use laptops for various other activities, such as creating brochures, online demonstrations, and videos.
I would love to have access to some additional learning materials, in order to better help my students have the power to achieve. I have used Storyworks, which is a Scholastic Magazine, in the past, and my students love it! In Storyworks there are examples of all kinds of genres in every issue. There are fictional stories, nonfiction articles, reader's theater, and vocabulary lessons. Storyworks would be a welcome addition to my reading instruction.
