Flexible classrooms give students a choice in what kind of learning space works best for them, and help them to work collaboratively, communicate. Research shows that some of the immediate benefits of flexible seating include burning more calories, using up excess energy, improving metabolism, increased motivation and engagement, creating a better oxygen flow to the brain, and improving core strength and overall posture. It's no surprise that physical activity is linked to higher academic performance, better health, and improved behavior. I have asked for four wobble stools and bouncy bands for chairs to add flexible seating options in our classroom.
STEM stands for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. STEM is important because it pervades every part of our lives. Science is everywhere in the world around us. Technology is continuously expanding into every aspect of our lives. Mathematics is in every occupation, every activity we do in our lives. A curriculum that is STEM-based has real-life situations to help the student learn. I have asked for STEM design and build engineering centers, STEM career book set to give my students the opportunity to explore STEM-related concepts. I have also asked for a storage organizer to make the STEM activities easily accessible and organized for my students.
