Kindergarten is such a scary and exciting time for kids. They are finally going to school, they are apprehensive about leaving their loved ones but at the same time they are excited to be at school. Reading is an important part of kindergarten, learning their letters, the sounds, their first words, each new accomplishment brings joy and excitement.
Every child is unique and comes in with different reading skills; tailoring reading experience to students needs, helps them grow into book lovers. My students come into Kindergarten with various learning levels, some know all the letters in their name, some have never seen a letter, some are reading, others have only ever held books.
Giving to this project will help all the students in my class learn reading at their level. If they are just learning their letters, items like the "All about letters" pocket chart, tactile letters and write and wipe alphabet will help. If they are ready to start stringing together letter to make words, they will be using the stamps, letter beads, and sight word puzzles to aid their learning! There is something for every student in my class! Thank you so much!
