Creating a Makerspace Lab at each grade level will allow these students a daily opportunity to become STEAMMakers. The funding would go to purchasing a fully loaded Maker Space Mobile Project Cart. The students will have access to electrical circuitry, mechanical accessories, gears and tools to facilitate their 21st Century learning. Makerspaces Lab provide hands-on, creative ways to encourage students to design, experiment, build, and invent as they deeply engage in science, engineering and tinkering. A Makerspace Lab is a 21st-century tool bench with mechanical supplies to become a Maker: engineer, scientist, electrician, artist, mathematician. We want to have our students become fully invested in being STEAMMakers. The way to do this is to provide them the space and tools to become Makers. The Makerspace Lab will facilitate our wondering, tinkering, exploring, inventing, rethinking, designing, creating, problem solving, collaborating, brainstorming and innovating. Simply stated the Makerspace tools will assist our students to Care Think Design and Act. The funding secured from this grant will go directly to the students learning, exploring and becoming STEAMMakers.
