My classroom has a very limited amount of science books for independent reading. Because students pick science books over any other type, books that we do have are very worn and outdated. With these new books, students who are hesitant readers will quickly be engaged with the new selections in our library.
We love books and we love science, so being able to supplement their reading with science will truly have a great impact on a love of learning. I have chosen books with excellent illustrations and are a variety of texts to engage all students. With these new books, I am confident that my lowest readers will be able to progress and my highest readers will be able to learn new things of interest.
