This school year I would love to see all my students improve their reading skills by moving up in their reading levels.
All are sensational and unique in the way they learn.
They are all showing more and more interest in reading. Each week we have a "Book of the Week" and we do various activities related to that book.
It would be so great to add some new books to our classroom and have a leveled library. All of the students are on different reading levels, by having the leveled library the students can read books that are appropriate for them. The students will be able to select books for themselves, become more independent and get more practice. These specifically leveled books will help the students read books that provide just the right level of support and challenge. This leveled library will make a more organized set of books for the children to choose from.
It will also provide an easier way of monitoring student progress over time and can expose the students to a variety of texts which can open their eyes to a whole new world of topics. The additional phonetic materials will reinforce my students abilities to improve their reading skills. This is also needed for my early readers where I can use phonetic materials, such as alphabet sounds and building words to increase fluency. My students also need reinforcement to become engaged and remained engaged during my lessons the use of tactile materials, and sensory objects are needed. I thank you in advance for helping me create a learning environment centered on student growth.
