Many of the students in our school come from a low socioeconomic background and getting an education is their best means to escape poverty. School is often a safe place for these students. It is a place where they are fed, taught, and loved. For many of our students it is the only consistent part of their lives. Even though it is tough at home for these students, they are eager to come to school where expectations for their learning are high and they are challenged to become productive citizens in our society.
