The various PE equipment I requested will help my students grow and learn in a fun interactive way. Most of my TK/K students start the year, lacking in some aspect of physical activity or in need to develop and strengthen their fine and gross motor skills. And unfortunately, my school lacks a climbing apparatus and fun engaging PE equipment.
With the equipment I requested, I can provide my students with daily fun, engaging active play during recess and more focused group rotations during our PE time.
During recess, the hop along balls will help my students strengthen their core and balance in a fun way. The giant stepping stones will help my students learn to balance, count, recognize and sequence numbers as well as to work cooperatively. The parachute will promote team building as well as strengthen their upper body and fine motor development. The bean bags will be used individually by my students during directed PE lessons to build eye-hand coordination, balance and teamwork. The hoops and comet balls will be used in a variety of cooperative games during recess and PE which will continue to strengthen balance, core muscles, eye hand coordination, jumping, and hopping.
It is crucial for my young students to be engaged in active play and to strengthen motor skills which will also help in brain development and will transfer into academic learning.
