Donations to this project will give my students a computer center in the classroom where they can use the two Canon Lasers imageCLASS Wireless Monochrome Printers and three RCA Viking Pro Flagship 2 In 1 Tablet Laptops to do active research, practice their typing skills and foster their knowledge of programs such as Google Docs, Microsoft Word and Powerpoint.
The main focus of this center is to give my students more opportunity to interact with computers, researching online and then creating a final product from what they learned through various programs.
I love the idea of my students researching topics and then creating through their research. For example, if granted, this project will be used in Science as students research Biomes, Water environments and ecosystems as well as a specific planet and element from the Periodic Table. Some final projects from the research would include power point presentations, reports on various topics, a postage stamp, and diagrams of elements from material learned.
