My students are 8th graders who are trying to become young adults. One of the struggles in middle school is allowing the students choice. This gives them some level of control in what they are doing. I am using the flexible seating option including gaming chairs, bungee chairs and shag rugs in the classroom to give the students the choice that they crave while providing them a homey learning lab where they can create, analyze, empower and inspire each other to love learning and grow as they develop their sense of identity in a safe and nurturing environment. This will allow them to shine and truly demonstrate their full capabilities.
