I want to provide flexible seating to give my students choice, movement, comfort and sensory input. My students will benefit from having and making choices about how they want to sit in class and learn. Giving students choices increases ownership of their learning, which increases their intrinsic motivation.
The movement, comfort and sensory input from these flexible seating options will allow them to fidget quietly and choose a position that allows them to focus on their work.
These options will allow movement in a quiet and non-disruptive way. These flexible seating options can also help strengthen core stability which will promote a healthy posture and mind.
