I have a very excited group of kindergartners this year. They want to learn everything! My kids come from a poor socioeconomic area of NYC. They are English Language Learners who don't get the support that they need at home because their parents are also learning the English Language. Many of them come from an unbalanced home environment. At my school, we try to make up for that with our instruction in the classroom. I want to give them all the support they need. Being the only teacher in the classroom with 25 wide eyed children, I need to keep things fresh and new and exciting at all times. Remember kindergarten? Many of my kids are not being read to at home. This project will help me close that gap.
