Students want to move around while they are working. They work very hard all day and would like to work in areas besides their desks and plastic chairs. I offer many opportunities to move around the room to work, but our school has old carpet that our students do not like to sit on. I have purchased some flexible seating using my own money, but the students need more seating options.
The flexible seating choices such as balance balls, bean bag chairs, bungee chairs, and stability discs, will allow my students to move about the room and release energy while they are working in the classroom. They have asked for opportunities to be more active and I would love to be able to offer that option to them, even while we are doing classwork in the room.
These items will help the students focus their attention on school, while allowing their bodies to move. This will have a very positive impact on their learning!
