I am requesting sensory items to help my students with social and learning disabilities. Students with ADHD, Autism and other social and learning disabilities often find it hard to sit and focus in the classroom. These sensory items, such as the kinetic sand, will help students keep their hands busy while they are focused on learning. By squishing the sand through their fingers students will be able to work out their energy in a non-disruptive manner. The visual water timer will provide students with a calming water flow to watch as they calm themselves from an overstimulated environment, such as returning to the classroom from recess.
Please help calm my kiddos so they can be successful learners! By providing my students with these tools, you will in turn be providing them with life lessons. My students will learn how to advocate for their needs, by asking for these tools. They will all learn how to calm themselves before moving on to do another activity.
