Wooten Elementary just celebrated its 60th anniversary of educating a North Austin community. Throughout these 60 years many children have created memorable experiences in the classroom. What better way to commemorate this trajectory than to create the 1st ever Wooten Yearbook.
In order to be able to capture the memories of the current students, my students will need digital cameras. They will work with these images they take to create a yearbook that showcases every grade level in our school. This new project that they will be working on through out the year can allow them to experience the world of photography. This is a new opportunity for them to work with new technology to document positive memories that will last them throughout their educational career. Studies have shown that elementary years are a pivotal time in a child's development. This new experience provides an opportunity for them to reflect on what they have learned and how they have grown over the course of the school year. The cameras can be used to create positive experiences for incoming classes for years to come.
