Kids are good. But sometimes their behavior doesn't show that. I want to model ways for kids to regulate their emotions. I want to give kids a comfortable spot where they can feel safe to practice the strategies taught in the classroom to regulate their emotions and feelings in a positive way. Sometimes, a chance to take a break with sensory objects can be just what is needed. Overstimulated kids can also benefit from the pressure that a weighted blanket provides.
Schools can be loud places at times and while that is a great sign that fun is taking place, it can be overwhelming for some kids. Having the opportunity to "tune out" the noise for a while with noise canceling headphones will offer a chance to regroup.
Teaching kids that feelings are a normal part of life and giving them the tools to manage those feelings will allow them to gain confidence in the classroom and in life!
