My students are thoughtful, socially conscientious, and hard working. Unfortunately, for many of my students, these attributes are not fostered at home in a way that will allow them to reach their potential. We are a Title I school (high poverty rate) and many students get their main source of nutrition, health and mental care, and attention and love from us.
Regardless of the challenges they face outside of the classroom, my students are eager to learn more about the current state of our country and world. Many say teaching young adults is not for the faint of heart, and some days I would agree, but I love teaching this age group because of how passionate they can be!
