All students should have the opportunity to learn to play music regardless of their Socioeconomic Status. The National Association for Music Education state, “Researchers indicate… that including music within the curriculum for all students enhances highly valued 21st Century skills such as the ability to be creative, to communicate effectively, and to collaborate. These skills are essential for future quality of life and success in college and/or career.”
By donating to our project you will be helping to enhance their education with music.
We will start with how to correctly hold and use the recorder and proper breathing control to produce notes. While learning how to produce various notes we will lean musical notation. The students will practice at school and at home. Later in the school year they will be able to give a performance at our Winter and Spring Programs.
