In order to prepare my students for the jobs that have not even been invented, my students will not only need to acquire knowledge, they'll need to be able to share ideas and build upon them. Giving my students more access to technology will enable them to harness their collaborative skills. With the use of Google classroom, students will be able to see immediately what other students are creating and collaborate with them in real time. With the use of computers and Google classroom, feedback will not only go from teacher to student, it will form a web going from student to student and student to teacher. Behind a computer screen, even the most apprehensive student can find their voice. Students are less reluctant to share when they feel protected by the veil of the computer screen. In a digital classroom, shy students will not only shine, their thoughts and ideas will raise the level of rigor in the room. Computers allow every child to use their gifts to extend the knowledge of everyone. With the use of computers, students can be given multiple ways to show their understanding of a concept and share that understanding with the class. With the use of programs like Screencast, students can video their explanation of a phenomenon and allow other students to view it. With various apps, students can create everything from cartoons to digitally-linked concepts maps, all of which can be used to raise every student's depth of knowledge. Computers allow students to harness ideas.
