Having a printer accessible in the classroom for students to print, will make a difference in their learning by taking ownership of their writing. On Monday, we read a text that contributes to the genre of our writing. Tuesday, we create a class chart gathering the information that the students want to include. Wednesday, students create a rough draft compiling all the information using the step-up-to-writing process. Thursday, students choose a peer to work with and edit their writing using CUPS. Friday, students write/print their final draft.
By having a printer available to students, the students are motivated and encouraged to publish their final copy. Students will create a booklet that they will add to, and reflect on their growth, in all genres throughout the year.
Students are eager to print their final masterpiece that they have worked so hard and long toward. Printing their writing piece is the culmination of their weekly project! We ask you to please help fund this project! Your help is truly appreciated!
