In school we stress that literacy is the most important area we teach. When we teach literacy, we are teaching our students the ability to communicate. Whether it's the ability to read and write in the language we speak or in symbolic systems of the computer language, it's important as a teacher to give my students all the tools they need in their tool box to succeed and build upon their knowledge base.
Your donation of a Dash & Dot Robot kit would allow students access to unique learning experiences that will promote student engagement, cognitive development and leadership skills. The robot will provide students with a concrete way to understand and learn the abstract concept-coding.
Students will learn how to use the various apps that are designed to work with the robot to program it to play games, send messages, solve puzzles, and even complete an obstacle course! The best part of using this dash robot and dot is that the students will immediately see the cause and effect of what they program and be able to start fixing it /figuring out the "how" right away without me- the teacher, giving them the answer!! The learning is engaging, fun, and meaningful.
