Many of my students find Writing a difficult subject matter. Students, who have either a learning impediment or a language barrier, find it even more difficult to write a 5-paragraph essay, than a student who does not have either obstacle.
These students tend to want to give up because they feel that what they are trying to say is not being expressed adequately on their paper. They lose confidence in themselves and no longer wish to write.
With the help of the chrome books, my students will be able to type their essays then use Google Translate to hear the mistakes that would normally be hard for them to see and therefore be able to write better essays.
They could also use Google to help them find definitions, synonyms, and/or antonyms to better express themselves.
Once students find "writing" their essay isn't as daunting as they once imagined, they can let their true voice be heard.
