I believe that learning to read is the most exciting thing we do in kindergarten. My kids really get fired up about getting their hands on books. I have a pretty good selection of books in my classroom for them to read at school, but I want them to be able to read at home too. I tell my students that the only way we get better at things is to practice. This is true of reading as well.
I want my students to carry their love of reading at school over with them at home. To do this, I need more books for them to check out of my classroom and take home to read. Adding more books for this lending library will ensure that all of my students are able to take a book home each night and read with someone in their house.
About my class
