My students sit at their tables for most small group and some large group activities. Being that they are four and five years old, it doesn't take much to distract them. I want to make milk crate seats for my students so that transitions to small group is not only easier but more comfortable for them so that they are able to focus on the lessons I have prepared for them. These seats will have a cushion top and will also provide storage for their materials that they will need daily. Before, my students would have to transition out of large group one by one to gather their materials out of their cubbies. By the time materials were gathered and my students have settled down, I would have a minimal amount of time to conduct these small group lessons. In hopes to improve my classroom environment, I have researched and found this wonderful seating option for my students to be comfortable with storage for their materials.
