In the past I use to have a kitchen center for my students and they loved it. It is a great way for them to use their imagination through play. The kitchen/home center will give my students the opportunity to learn how to share and cooperate with one another.
I have several students who did not attend Pre-School prior to Kindergarten and they lack the experience of play with other children in a classroom setting. It is very important to help my students work on their social skills and one way of doing this is during centers. The kitchen/home center is a vital way of achieving this goal.
