Visual Art students at Langston Hughes HS are enthusiastic high achievers. As a title one school in a rural area, our students don't have easy access to private lessons and the variety of art supplies that might be available in more urban locations. That doesn't stop our students from creating amazing work and placing at some of the highest levels in AP art courses and local and state art shows.
Students at LHHS love the arts. We have a huge National Art Honors Society who's mission it is to spread the love of art through the school and community. If our students want to try something we do what it takes to make it happen.
LHHS students reach out several times a year to collaborate with cluster schools and community members through art shows and community art projects.
Langston Hughes HS has over 500 students enrolled in Visual Arts courses each semester, but every student is touched by our program.
