Motivating students and keeping them motivated throughout the school year can sometimes be challenging for educators. However, I have found in previous years, that when students are working towards earning a reward, they become more motivated to learn the material.
The items in our grade level school store will be used to help students meet and exceed academic and behavior goals. Students will have the opportunity to earn tickets throughout the week. With their tickets, they will be able to visit the school store on Fridays. Some of the ways they can earn tickets are by meeting their weekly academic or behavioral goals. These tickets will then be used to purchase snacks from the school store.
Being that many students love chips and juices, we have selected to stock our store with chips, juices, and other snacks items that are either individually wrapped or easy for distribution. The headphones will be used as incentives for students with food restrictions.
I hope that by creating this school store, students will become motivated to learn, return homework assignments, and stay focused within the learning environment.
