The children that I teach struggle with reading stamina as well as the ability to navigate through and comprehend complex passages. The comprehension Journals will allow children to work independently, in pairs, and in small group sessions with the teacher that will allow the children to think through the reading . The easel will help direct students to current assignments in class. The students often give up before they have even begun. Children in my classroom are often in need of the small successes along the way to the big success at the end of the year. These materials would allow them to have this start on their road to success.
