My Montessori classroom is comprised of 25 curious and dynamic first through third grade students. A significant portion of my students come from homes with little income and many have special needs.
They are learning to be independent learners. My students have come from a Primary (K3-Kindergarden) classroom in which they have begun to learn skills necessary for life as well as reading, math and other academic subjects.
They are encouraged to choose their own work and challenge themselves. They are taught with hands on materials in small group lessons. Their interests are encouraged and supported.
They work hard and need healthy snacks to fuel their growing bodies and minds!
This year we are going to go a step further. The students will prepare their own snacks from healthy ingredients and learn how cooking relates to math, science, culture, nutrition manners and more. Cooking will part of our daily routine.
