My Kindergarten students are diverse, lively learners who are always interested 'what happens next?'. They want to know more and love learning new ways to get there. They are discoverers of new information and enjoy sharing their learning with others.
My school is a low income, Title 1 school with a very high non English population. Most families do not have the means to provide a variety learning materials at home or assist in our school. My students enter with limited exposure to literacy so they do not yet know the joys that it brings.
We do not have an abundance of funds to replace material as it stops working or breaks at our school. Our students are going without basic learning materials, such as a functioning listening center.
