In a culminating project-based lesson, 5th grade students will research, plan and design drawings, paper sculptures and digitally altered optical illusions. With the purchase of iPads, students will be able to increase their background knowledge by viewing online galleries, and exploring video demonstrations of opt art techniques.
The final project will require students to work in collaborative teams to produce a multimedia video with the iMovie app. Students will begin by using the iPad to photograph their 2D and 3D artworks, and then sequencing their images with music and voice recorded responses, that reflect what they learned in this instructional unit.
