Students with visual impairment have difficulty learning different life skills needed to help with independence. Due to their visual impairment, students with visual impairments have an additional curriculum - Expanded Core Curriculum. This curriculum provides a framework for instruction in a specialized set of vision-related skills for students who are blind or visually impaired – compensatory skills, orientation mobility, social interaction, independent living skills, recreation and leisure, sensory efficiency, assistive technology, career education and self – determination. This project we are trying to get everyday items that are found in homes. We are trying to set up place for our students to learn how to complete everyday living skills, so they can be independent. We are needing items for a living room, bedroom, kitchen and bathroom. They will receive the one on one instruction within this setting to help them become independent.
